Now in its ninth year, the Hudson River Skywalk Festival celebrates the region’s vibrant artistic and cultural legacy as the birthplace of the Hudson River School of landscape painting with a showcase of local artists, an Artist & Curator Round Table, a Guided History Walk, an Anniversary Motorcade and Family Art-Making Activities.
Morning | 90 Years of Vehicles Motorcade at The Rip Van Winkle Bridge
In honor of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge’s 90th anniversary, the New York State Bridge Authority invites members of the community to participate in the motorcade.

10 am–4 PM | Showcase of Local Artists at The Rip Van Winkle Bridge Park (Free, Exhibitors must apply by 8/15)
The New York State Bridge Authority is providing an opportunity for area artists to showcase and sell their work. Special consideration will be given to artists whose work highlights the beauty, history, and character of the Hudson River Valley, the Hudson River, and the region’s iconic historic bridges. We welcome diverse artistic perspectives and media that celebrate the cultural and natural richness of this unique landscape.

1–2 PM | Gallery Explorers: Family Program at OLANA (Free)
Experience original artwork by learning, looking closely, and conversation in the Sharp Family Gallery. For families with children ages 3 & up.
1–2 PM | History Walk at OLANA ($10 Tickets)
What’s Missing? Ice and Industry History Walk with Jonathan Palmer. Join Greene County Historian Jonathan Palmer for a walk through Olana’s landscape to explore the unseen industrial history of the Hudson River Valley.
2 PM | Artist & Curator Roundtable at the Thomas Cole Site ($15 Tickets)
Join exhibiting artists Ann Agee, Francesca DiMattio, and Valerie Hegarty and the curator Kate Menconeri for a roundtable discussion on the special exhibition Emily Cole: Ceramics, Flora & Contemporary Responses.
1–4 PM | Artmaking in the Afternoon at OLANA (Free)
Participate in free, drop-in artmaking in the Wagon House Education Center from 1-4 PM and learn more about Frederic Church’s artist-designed home and studio on the Hudson.
